Hi guys,

I'm only 24 but suffer from hair loss, which has been very difficult to deal with at such a young age. I've finally decided to shave it off with the electric razor (no guard) and I love it and haven't looked back for a second.

I was just wondering if you kind people have any fashion advice for the young bald/shaved head look? Styles or icons/celebrities that I could take tips from?

Biggest problem I have right now is I'm too pale. It's so difficult to get a tan in England with our awful weather. I've been looking into trying a gradual tanning moistener. This seems to be my best option as fake tans stick out like a sore thumb in england.

I'm 5'11 and in great shape. weighing around 167pounds with 10% bodyfat.

Thanks guys!

First thing is the fact that you're pale won't be an issue for a girl that would be into you. Though if it is something that is on your mind and detracts from your confidence in general then by all means apply a gradual tanning moisturiser.

As far as style for the bald man goes, look at the styles of...Bruce Willis, Freddy Ljungberg, Billy Zane and Chris Daughtry.

Look for consistencies in their dress and try them on yourself, don't copy them but take inspiration to build a better you.

Tanning is a great idea. I don't know what a "tan moistener" is, but your best bet is to go to a tanning salon. You'd be surprised at how many guys go there; nothing to be ashamed of, really. I'd go if I didn't already have my own tanning bed. Thanks, mom.

Facial hair works well with shaved heads, but full beards usually look pretty bad. Experiment with some more subtle facial hair styles and see what you like.

A good pair of sunglasses also looks great on everyone, but shaved heads have a way of making them look even better. Don't get a pair with obnoxiously huge lenses, though. When I used to shave my head (not bald, used a number 2) I bought a pair of Aviators which looked great.

By tanning salon do you mean using a tanning bed or a spray tan?

I'm not to keen on spray tans. Wouldn't it be a little obvious if I showed up with an instant tan one day? ;)

A gradual tan moisturizer is basically a moisturizer which slowly builds up a gradual fake tan. I'm currently looking into these!

I meant a tanning bed. A lot of gyms have them now, or you could go to an actual "tanning salon" which literally just has like 30 tanning beds and you rent one for 10-15 minutes or whatever. Don't do the spray tan, because like you said, it's tremendously obvious and you don't actually get a tan - you turn orange.
