Been reading this site for a while and picked up some useful tips. So thought I would join and see if I can get a hand (and hopefully give some advice when I've got my game solid)!

So I've been instant message gaming a HB8 who works for same company but different office. Only joined company a week ago and had some good convos/few IOIs in person with her when she has been about. No number opportunity as too busy office.

Was teasing her back and forth via IM but she misinterpreted a sarcastic comment (one of the reasons I don't like text/email/IM).

She got a little bit annoyed and sadly I then went a bit AFC! I said was joking, she "forgave" me. So I sent back a jokey msg which she didn't reply to. Send another, which I shouldn't have done as it just looks needy and now she's acting a bit cold.

It's been me initiating our conversations via IM for about 3 days so I don't want to seem needy - although I am happy to come across persistent as I'm a persistent person about things I want in life!

How do I recover and go for the date/number close? Any thoughts?

Tricky tricky. It would have been a lot more helpful if you posted the actual convo you had and what you said exactly. Either way. Id stop being persistent for a few days. Enough for her to notice you stopped. Then try again.

Persistence is a great quality to have, but don't use it right now. You do seem needy currently, and in her eyes, weak. She has the power, you keep crawling back to her. Just stop talking to her. This can build interest, and at least doesn't continue the look of neediness.

Either she will contact you or not. If she does, then the freeze out has worked. SLOWLY move back in to talking to her. Reward her coming back by not bombarding her!

If she doesn't start IMing you again, then you didn't have a shot, even if you kept at her. She's just not into you.
