It's mostly about confidence for me. I've never been able to approach girls. I'm cripplingly shy and it sucks. I know I've got it in me, I just need to suck it up and do it.

So when I go out, what SPECIFIC goals should I set? Phone numbers? Kisses? Lots of girls? To be honest if I do ANY approaches I'll consider it a win.

I'll answer ANY questions about myself.

what I did to start me off was going to shops and getting in deep conversation with shop assistants, checkout girls or even hairdressers. there kind of getting paid to talk to you but it shows how laid back any girl can be and how easy they are to approach.

Yep, that's good stuff. Don't push yourself right now. When you're just getting started building your comfort, don't focus on numbers or kisses. Then you're psyching yourself out with the possible future rejection of an act you're not comfortable with yet. I think there's a Newbie mission stickyed somew.ere... General Questions I believe. Start by just making eye contact with everyone you walk by. Maybe smiling and nodding. Then escalating to saying a short greeting to a couple people. ANY PEOPLE. Help old ladies take their groceries to the car. Talk to the male checkout guys about recent sales at the store. Ask the female shelf stockers about their favorite products... Wait. Did you just talk to a girl? Oh my goodness. A normal conversation. And look, she didn't kill you!

Haha. I'm just messing with you. But seriously, build your comfort around any people in general. f you have an entire free day (maybe a Saturday), just focus on coming in contact with people and talking. Just talking. Then focus on talking to any hot girls walking by. From there, I would move to canned openers so there's less pressure, then onwards towards PU glory. Or something like that. The point is, enjoy being single. Push yourself to do the uncomfortable, but push yourself too hard or you'll snap too early. And of course, any questions at all you might have, post them up here. Thanks a lot, guys. I think I'm heading in the right direction. I've already been trying to make eye contact/small talk with everybody for the last few weeks.

Will take all your advice on board. I think when I hit the town I'd just like to get a few approaches down. Not even to pick them up, but to start a conversation with a random girl.

Simple yet so effective - KEEP eye contact with any hot girl that passes you by
even if you don't open a girl, look at her eyes and see if she stares at you; huge confidence booster to see other hot chicks staring at you, and it shows huge confidence if you can hold their gaze without letting them be alpha

and remember what charlie said on 2 and a half men a few days ago "the worst she can do is marry you, wait for 2 years then divorce you and take half your things"

Okay, I have first question regarding eye contact. I've been TRYING to just make any eye contact with women I walk by.

Let's say I make contact and I begin to hold it... Then what? Should I shoot them a smile? Or just maintain emotionless? What if she says something? If she just thinks I'm some creep I know I should just not give a fuck and move on, so I know that. But just staring with nothing else seems strange.

If shes walking by you and yall lock eyes its kinda hard for me too. I generally just say Hi.. youll be surprised how many say hi and smile back. Simple right? If you want to take it from here turn around and walk fast part her and stop her. Never tap her from behind or talk from behind .. always pass her and then turn. go watch Sasha PUA daygame on youtube. Hes amazing at this. In my opinion the hardest thing in pickup is daygame with a woman PASSING you on the street.

If shes standing there and you lock eyes then you force a IOI. Anything will do. a wave, a goofy face, a point and smile... anything to get a response. if she does respond in a positive manner then you wont get blown out. its like an invite to come over and open her. If she responds with a bitch face like wtf or ignores you then that requires a bit more advanced stuff like breaking rapport off the bat. or even opening with a NEG. Not sure you'll be comfortable with that yet. with time grasshopper.

If shes sitting down and make eye contact then try to force a IOI or open with a simple opinion opener or situation or even even done "hey whats up?" or my personal fav "Hey how've you been?" (it really confuses her and will often respond with "do i know you?" then i make up some story about climbing mount everest or something silly then she gets it and sometimes plays along or you can then just change the subject if she doesnt) , its the same as previous BUT golden rule here is you need to sit also in the next 2 mins. You need to get down on her level or it will be to intimidating and creepy for a guy to stand over her for longer than 2 mins. In fact when a girl is sitting i Open WHILE sitting down off the bat if possible.
