I don't know about you guys/girls but I find texting on a date very disrespectful! I'm not talking about a first date but maybe a third or fourth where you are both out for a fancy dinner. It pisses me off when your talking to them and mid sentence they are texting away at the dinner table.

How do you guys handle this without doing a beta sulk "your not listening to me" speech?

You have to be more engaging gtdave, a girl isn't going to take her phone out while she is out with me unless its important because I'm bringing her into my reality. She's on an adventure and the last thing she would want is to be removed from that adventure to make a quick text message.

Have you ever pulled out you're phone and texted anyone while on a roller coaster? I don't think so

Fair point! But have you ever encountered one of those girls whos phone is just attached to them constantly? I mean they'd text through their own damn wedding lol?!

I dated a girl for a year who always did this! It annoyed me but I never brought it up! I was on a fourth date last week and a girl was texting throughout the dinner and I started wondering how do people deal with this?

I don't think it's 100% to do with being engaging! I think it's to do with having bad manners.

Honestly mate, I've dating different kinds of women with different habits but very rarely if ever do women do this to me because I simply would not tolerate it. Women will only do the things they know that can get away with. Womens intuition is 15x stronger than a mans, therefore if she can "feel" like you won't call the date off or end things if she isn't paying you more attention than that is exactly what they will do.

Now women have tested me once or twice in the past and I'll just take there phone out of there hands and put it in my pocket. And they'll usually say something like " Okay I'm going to stop" and I'll be like " then you don't need it " and then they'll say " Okay we'll can I at least turn it off" I'll then let them turn it off and they'll hand it right back to me.

You just have to be a man and maintain authority; and yes a lot of it has to do with you being more engaging. A wise man that is forever growing takes the responsibility for everything going on around him, and that way he is always improving.
