...of taking longer to respond than her is a little lame? Maybe not "lame" but I could see how new guys would misuse it. If everytime she texts you wait a little longer to respond than she did I think that comes off as SUPER reactive. The girl isn't thinking "He must be busy and in demand", she's probably thinking "This guy is try hard and obnoxious". If a girl doesn't respond to you for 4 hours because she was at work - dont wait 4 hours and a minute to get back to her. She'll think you're a douche. I think a better rule is to just vary your response time. One time you respond instantly, next time you take 35 minutes, next time you take 15 minutes, etc. You don't have to always one up her in my opinion/experience.

Varying the response time is great advice, There is no cut in stone rule on times. That would be just stupid! The point is to just not be "readily available" every time a vagina pushes a button on her phone! .... although sometimes immediate attention is required, like the text I got last night "D2F?" was all it said
