Ive been reading magic bullets. Very impressed so far and its easy to understand. I could easily go into storytelling but when i've finished my story her reply could be "oh thats really cool" and then what would i do? Im hoping there would be enough open loops in my story where she would have to ask questions but in the case there wasn't...how would i continue it?

If she asks questions then you are golden, but remember you want to get her talking about herself! If you are doing all the talking you better have one exciting freaking life! Start asking her open ended questions...

Ex:
After telling a story about the time I was in an avalanche:

What kinds of crazy/scary situations have you been in before?

Where do you like to go skiing/playing in the snow?

What's some of your favorite things about being in the snow covered mountains?

Just make sure your questions are more open ended type questions. Listen to her answers and use them to develop your next question.
