It's never too late bro, you can switch out the date plans at the first point of meeting if you want to, i do it all the time.
The movies is a bit old fashion, and so is dinner. The movies you won't have too much time to talk or get to know each other and dinner can become a bit awkward. What I've found is, it is best to be walking and talking for a bit side by side. Take her to an arcade, somewhere you guys get do team activities, compete against each other and still maintain a conversation.
