Tips on vocal projection?

New to MPUA Forum

I have a low-ish and rather soft speaking voice that in noisy places my voice is always sucked up by the bar noise
Tried speaking loud, but then my throat hurts so much the next day
Any tips on vocal projection and how to train my voice?

Yes, and talk to anyone you know who sings they can help you with this. The power from your voice doesn't come from your throat it comes from your diaphragm and filling your lungs with air. Exhale as you speak and your voice will carry further with more power. You can probably find videos on speaking from the diaphragm...
