This happened tonight. I was out on a date with a girl and we were driving towards downtown. This girl is not the one I'm concerned with regarding the DLV; you'll see in a sec. This is only my 3rd date with this girl and so I don't know her that well and she starts talking about personal views she has. I don't like to discuss politics even with my friends so I steer the conversation away. She wonders why I'm avoiding the topic and starts getting preachy to me. After I keep trying to steer the conversation away she gets even angrier. I get fed up, ask her to stop the car, and I got out. I told her this probably won't work out and that I'd find my own way home. She drives away.

So there I am near downtown on foot and I have no way of getting home. I try calling some friends, but no luck. Now there's this other girl who I've been interested in that lives close by. This is the girl I'm concerned about regarding the DLV. We've known each other for about 4 months and have been flirting with each other. I was dating the previous girl at the time though so I didn't pursue this one. I text this girl and ask her if she's home and if she could do me a favor and come get me. She says yes and comes and pick me up (I was only about 8 blocks away from her place). She asks what happened and I told her what went down with the other girl. I tell her that I'm just going to keep trying to call my other friends to come get me and won't be staying at her place long. Eventually, I get a hold of one of my friends and get picked up from her place.

Was it a DLV to call this girl to come pick me up? Since the first girl (from the date) is now out of the picture, I'd like to pursue this girl. I'm wondering if I need to do some damage control if this lowered my value a lot.

If anything, you increased your value. LOL.

How can you not see you stepping out of a car mid-date was the ballsiest thing you could do? I'd focus more on that than the fact that you were asking for a ride because it seemed like you left on your own terms. Haha...silly duckling.

Haha yeah. I was just concerned that she would think I was of lower value since I had to call her to give me a ride. I've only known her for a few months so I was afraid she'd think I have no other friends and had to call someone I barely knew.

You made a request and you got compliance from her. Just curious though, why didn't you take the 2nd girl out straight away? You definitely dhv with ditching on the crazy. Nice one!

When she picked me up, she looked incredibly tired. It was a Friday night and she teaches a yoga class on top of her desk job so I assumed she had a long day working.

Flynn, fucking awesome dude.

Seriously. I've stopped a conversation mid-sentence in a bar and walked the fuck away - you did it in downtown from a moving car? Fucking bravo!

Do you like the girl who came and got you? If so, I can't help you - I don't want relationships, and have failed at them - so I stick to the tactical game, not the strategic approach...

But, if you just want to fuck this chick that got you - I'd suggest ramping game on her.

DLV? No way in hell. You showed you have balls; you showed you are different, you showed you're a man with stones.

Thanks RR! Yeah I like the girl that came to get me. I figure I can game her now that I'm not tied to the other girl (I'm no good at juggling multiple girls so I try to stick to dating one at a time).

Also, it seems that people on this forum think getting out of the car was a big dhv. On a different forum, everyone thought it was a dlv. Their reasons were:

1. My reaction was emotional or rude. Instead of leaving, they said I should have tried to resolve the argument by changing the topic or just stop talking completely.

2. I look crazy for "dipping on a date" like that.

3. It's "weird" to walk out on a date because I didn't like the conversation topic.

4. Big dlv because the girl was driving on the date.

5. Doesn't look good that I walk out on arguments. Shows that in the future, I may not be able to resolve an argument and instead I'd rather run.

I mostly disagree with them. Especially since I did try to resolve the argument, but the girl just kept getting angrier. I can agree that my reaction was rude, but it's not like I did it angrily. I told the girl that things probably wouldn't work out, I asked her to pull over (instead of telling her or demanding), and I calmly told her I'd find my own way home. It wasn't some dramatic Hollywood scene. Also, regarding #3, I didn't walk out because I didn't like the conversation topic. I walked out because the girl wouldn't stop preaching.

Reason #4 I can kinda agree with. Hah.

Any thoughts on their reasoning behind it being a dlv?

Move on. It wasn't a DLV. Whatever forum this is that said it's a DLV, stop listening to them.

It simply depends on how you frame the action. It could have been both a dlv or a dhv. But as the other girl came to pick you up it is clear she likes you. Instead of wondering about dlv or dhv you should focus on closing the ones interested. Decide whether you like them and if yes make a move.

If you think its dlv then it will be a dlv.

You can do a fucking backflip unto a homeless guy while shitting gold coins unto his mouth then he turns into adrianna lima who proceeds to suck your dick and still look like a loser if you dont believe you are cool enough.

Anyone saying it was DLV is a tool. It's in how you present it. You bounced from a dead set and immediately had a back-up plan.

I applaud you.
