I know she is a hired gun and friendly, but I saw her when she was driving off after leaving work and she made sure to wave and smile to me on the sidewalk. I've met her maybe 3 times over the past 3 months and I was wondering if you guys had any general tips for number closing while I am at the restaurant.

The best way to pick up a waitress is teasing her by pretending she gives crappy service. Be subtle about it though--if she fills up your glass, almost guaranteed she'll either spill a little over the side or move the napkin picking the glass up. Point at it, raise an eyebrow, tighten your mouth to one side and say "That's unacceptable."

If laughs, you did it right. Don't laugh back, but tighten the smirk a little and say, "I think we're going to need a waitress who's a little more coordinated." She should laugh harder and even slap you on the arm or something along those lines. Leave it like that and see her next time unless she strikes up a conversation with you at the end. If she does, you're in--just get the number before leaving.

If she doesn't laugh, or says something like "Oh, sorry," and walks away, she might either be busy and non-receptive or just not into you. That's not a big deal--just try it on another hot waitress.
