Ian welcome to the forum. As a moderator here I am going to be very blunt with you in hopes of getting my point across. Approach anxiety, AA, being afraid of being made fun of, laughed at, scolded, told to "Fuck off", whatever are all natural fears which is nothing you don't already know.
There is one true way past Approach Anxiety despite all the fancy little methods and pussy footing around. You fucking approach the girl!
I'm sure you've heard that before too so let me tell you something you may not already have figured out. You have to decide right the hell now if the reward is worth the risk. You're a man, make a decision like a man. Either you are motivated to do whatever it takes to get a girl because that is what is important to you right at this moment in your life, OR you're not. Either way is fine, but make a decision!
If you decide this isn't for you right now. You'd rather put your efforts into other things and not approach women but its just too scary, or you don't think its worth it then don't do it and come back when you are ready. No shame either way, you're making a grown ass man decision.
If you do decide to stick with this, and you say "To hell with what happens to me, I'm going to succeed!" then my friend you are one step closer to gettting the girl. Approach Anxiety and the 100 other names for it is all in your head. Also in your head is motivation and a postive attitude. You've heard people probably say Attitude is 110% of all you do and they are right.
You have to start with the right attitude to succeed and really want this lifestyle. Because it becomes a lifestyle not just some weekend hobby you do on your spare time when its convenient for you. It becomes part of who you are in your daily life.
The problem with a great many on the forum...is we are told about PUA or handed "The Game" we read about this world flowing with women who will want to jump our bones if we ask for the opinion on something and we want in. The problem is we don't want it bad enough at first...it's cool but we were told about it. We weren't already seeking it on our own.
Go back to the reasons why you joined the forum and started looking into PUA in the first place. Either you will find your motivation to continue into this lifestyle full charge, or you will find your reason to put it down, and sink your efforts into something else.
