so theres a chick that i've known for a good while now as she's the best friend of one of my best friend's girlfriend. so often those two chicks come over and pre-game with us before going out to bars and shit. she's damn hot but i've never done much but do some simple talking as she had a long-term boyfriend. recently though we seemed to get a bit more flirty and she also broke up with her boyfriend. she's also flirty with a lot of guys though, so i see myself as having no advantage other than.. I am me.
I don't have her number though, but I do talk to her on FB chat and through phone games (ha). just to clarify, i'm by no means great friends with her, but we get along and have a connection.

Normally I'd say the only or best way to get a number is in person. But I only see her on weekends, and I feel like since I've hung out around her so many weekends, asking her now would be like 'why are you asking me now?' I'm thinking i'll just put no emphasis on it and just tell her over FB chat or something to give me her number and then i'll try texting her during the week to try to build up to something for the weekend.

so what do you think? thanks guys. my methods haven't really worked, so i'm open to try whatever. i'm also really good friends with her friend (my friends GF) so I can use that to my advantage if there's a way to do so.

edit: to clarify what I was thinking of doing... since we often 'text' on the in-game chat thing, i would say something and just add.. btw give me your number i feel like i'm 5 talking to you on this

yeah that's more or less what i was thinking. just want to know if you guys think its lame to ask for it in this manner or if its fine since i've known her for a while.

if it was a girl i just met then i think it would be weak as hell to ask for a number through a phone game but i think in this case its fine. more of a formality/way to rid inconvenience then it is anything else. you guys agree?

went ahead and told her to give it to me and she obliged as expected.

so now hopefully i can escalate without fuckign things up or getting in the friend zone. i know she had a bit interest in one guy and i believe they hooked up once or twice before and after she broke up with her BF. i don't think this should effect me at all except for the fact that i can't just sit and play it slow or else i'll no doubt lose out to the guy who already has an 'in'. suggestions? should i just be outright with it and ask her to come over for a movie or something this week?
