Hey all, first time poster but long time reader of this forum, and new to the Pick Up world. This could go in a number of sections of the forum but since it is so broad i thought i would put it in here.

Essentially I want to know if you guys out there have any ideas for me to use/go about things when progressing from an opening to a k-close or f-close (not really interested in anything else) whilst in a clubs that I DJ at. I generally DJ in the main room of the club (house/electro music) in a fairly peak time slot, and as a focal point of the room for at least an hour I very often have 2 situations I find myself in at least 3 times a night.

The first is where a girl will come up and talk to me, or request something - I have a bit of success with this asking things along the lines of saying back "and whats in it for me, what do i get out of it" etc. and have got numbers out of this before, but frequently get stuck after she makes her request or whatever. Quite often I can end up in a conversation with a girl and I feel I can use this time to do a rolling technique as I usually have about 2-3 minutes before I need to start mixing in the next song which is ample time to have a bit of conversation, do a little bit of kino (which i suck at), then back off/turn away, and resume once again where possible. The problem I have here is that I rarely have a girl who would stay up in the booth for my entire set (which is generally an hour, and I cant leave) and im not entirely sure what to do about it once my set is over if i havent got her number or anything.

The second is where a girl (or maybe 2 or 3 girls) will just invite themselves up into the booth and come and dance alongside (sometimes on) me while im DJing. This situation im not too sure of wether to take as an IOI or not. I havent really given much effort into opening these girls as I need to concentrate on what im doing (ill take this point to note out that Im not one of those guys who DJs to get girls, im actually kinda serious about it and have been a supporting DJ to some sort of big name international DJs) but would you guys think that it would be worth giving an opener to them or just assume they are up there to show off?

Most of the girls at the clubs I DJ at are around 18-21 (im 20 nearly 21 myself - and for those who dont know, the legal drinking age in Australia is 18, so these girls will be drinking etc.), and about to 70% of the time I DJ kind of late (some point between 1:30am and 4am - Clubs close at 5am generally in Aus) so I feel if im wanting to get something done in the form of k-close or number close I need to get it done early as who knows what can happen at her end while im DJing. Quite often I make good eye contact with girls in the crowd when im DJing, especially if they are digging what im playing - would it be a decent idea to motion to them to into the booth etc?

Lastly, is it worth slipping in that im a DJ at the club into any conversations I have early or before my set? I dont really know what the effect would be, but I would possibly imagine good due to the sensationalised nature of DJs these days, but dont want to come across as 'just another DJ' to them.

Sorry for the essay - deep down im still a bit of an AFC so any help or tips as to how I could use my power as being a DJ in the club to my advantage would be great!
