I work at a bar and she is a bartender/manager. The other day I was on break so I sat down on the bar and started reading the news papers with a cup of coca-cola. As I was reading the paper she stands in front of me and says to a waitress that I look "cute" reading the news paper with my cup of coke. I ignore it and respond "You guys don't read the paper?" and she says "no, it's just you look cute that's all" and smiled. Now normal I would shrug this off but she's been doing this hot and cold thing for a while.

When ever she tells me something work related she tries to tell me in a serious manager work tone (almost as if she was trying to assert her position over me) but I usually say ok with a smirk as if it were a joke. I constantly catch her just blatantly staring at me though idk if it's to see if I'm doing my job or because I'm visually pleasing to her. She is usually the one to initiate the "small talk". I just usually ignore her or am sorta unresponsive.

It's not that I'm trying to seduce her or be a dick or anything just she is a manager and I am her employee I don't want to build any sort of comfortable relationship with her because of shit that happened in my old job because I was too buddy buddy with the manager. Thoughts?

I see, understood. I should have been more specific though I now realize it's impossible to tell. What I wanted to know is if you guys think she might be into me or if it's all in my delusional head, but I realize without you guys actually seeing what's going on it's impossible to tell because what I've said is completely biased. you can always just ask her out on a ''date'', and label it as such, it will cause you less complications at work, or you can take the other route and risk a bunch of bullshit over some girl, either way, compliance will tell you if she is interested and available for you way more then any ioi, but I would say if a girl gives positive body language and invests in interactions with you, there is a good chance she is attracted, but that means nothing, most girls are probably attracted to about 60%+ of the guys they talk to, what you really want to find out is if she is available and not a waste of time, you might as well just assume she is attracted and ask her out if you're interested, no point in going for the, ohh boy does she like me route, because girls like to hide their interest and play hard to get (generalization and doesn't fit all girls, but certainly fits plenty)
