feeling nervous approaching mixed groups

i have no problems approaching female or a group of females but the one main problem is approaching a female and and a guy (mixed group) i just always feel concerned i just don't want to want the male thinking that I'm trying to hit on the girl. plus i don't want to get into a fight. i just feel nervous about approaching mixed group any advice guys?

Would you say most guys are like you? Have you ever had a guy come up to a girl in your group and flirt with her? Did you fight him or just stand by and watch him do his thing? Think about it...
