I'm in college and I was wondering what the significance of facebook is and how to get one started from scratch. I went to a tiny high school with like 100 students from the south in Arkansas and am at a HUGE party school up north with a ton of long island kids who have STACKED faceboooks with like 1000's of pictures and 1000's of friends. I have like 15-30 friends (in real life) and could get my facebook "friend" total to like 70ish initially (some guys here went to like high school with 2000 kids and have them all as friends). Plus most of my friends from back home barely touch facebook and I'd likely have little activity on it (Won't really be putting much effort into it, I'm busy as hell and just stick to my own social circle). I was wondering whether I would come off as creepy if I were to start a facebook with say 50 friends, adding 3-5 new friends every week that I meet from class or clubs or whatever and start with like 20 pictures (should they either be party pictures or like pictures playing high school football or something haha?)

Start adding people to your facebook profile!!! dude every one has started there. Everyone beens there where yoy have like no friends on fb, but it expands afte a while.
Better to start now then later

For the pictures, i would make sure that i have a nice profile picture that stands out. Remember display yourself in your profile picture, i find people who dont are normally insecure.
Add pictures from parties u go to, any sport pics(maybe of u) . Put a variety of pics up, make ur self interesting

Hey man, thanks for the advice I get what your saying. So basically kinda admit that I'm kinda fucked and just start from scratch. Who would you add as your first friends apart from close friends. Honestly I know what I got to do, I kinda just feel like I'm delaying the crap first 4 or 5 weeks where I'm friending girls I know from class with like 40 facebook friends haha. So basically the key thing is a good profile picture and like 10-20 "cool pics" of like sports or parties or something? Also do you feel like facebook helped you meet people and get connected alot better and did you ever friend random mutual friends and facebook chat them before meeting in real life?

I have met alot of people on fb. Once or twice i would invite a complete stranger!!! Its always alot easier chatting to someone over the internet, so it is a good way to build a bit of a friendship, but make sure u also build a human one. Dont rely on speaking over the internet, its better to do it in person. But ya start talking to people over fb
