I have been gaming a friend that lives in another city. We may see one another every couple of months. I basically keep the friendship just active enough that we can start out on solid ground when we are around one another.

I pretty much strictly game this girl via text. I typically wait for her to text me, am the first one to end the conversation and I'm not going to call her just to talk because I feel that would reek of neediness.

THE ADVICE REQUEST
This gal and I have this ongoing joke where she claims that I am the father of her son (her dog, not an actual human child) because he loves me and shows me MUCH more attention than anyone else when I am around. SO, for Valentines in good fun I am having some flowers delivered to her place. The card just states that the "children" (her cat and dog) wanted to do something special for her and that I was the medium.

No, I know this is a little much for a guy not looking for a relationship so how would YOU play this off as "in good fun" without sounding too friendzone-ish?
