New secretary/admin just started in my office yesterday that I find very attractive.

I introduced myself yesterday and chatted with her briefly. Today, I came in and the receptionist introduced me again, and the new girl said "I know, he was one of the only people that introduced himself yesterday!.". Then I chatted with them and teased the receptionist a bit as always.

is there any way to swing drinks with this new girl, ideally for tomorrow night(or later if it must be)? Also,, specifically, I would like to eliminate any awkward factor in the office/keep it on the DL... So if she said no, she would mention it to the other admins/secretaries. So basically, I guess I would only go for it if it were a sure bet.

PS. I got punched recently so my eye is messed up. The receptionst talked about it with me this morning so the new girl knows what happened to my eye... I don't know how that affects my stock. The first thing the new girl did ask was "was it your gf?" So I dunno If that was also a subtle way of checking my availability?

Black eye in an office? Classy

I don't have any advice for you but you MUST keep the seduction attempts really low key. Don't be foward until you have tested the waters on her reactions. The work place and gaming at work has a very delicate balance. Be careful.

Well it wasn't so bad as a black eye... Its barely noticeable except for the burst blood vessels in my eye. Probably looks more like pink eye.

And yeah, I understand I have to be careful. Don't want to compromise any of my professional integrity. Just wondering if there were and tried and tested approaches for the given situation.

Also, dunno if this is relevant but our company is young and has a lot of intermingling, ie. People hook up together at the social events, lots of coworkers dating coworkers, etc.

No one else has any thoughts/advice?

So over the last few days, I've been chatting with her once in a while.

Over the course of the 3 days, we've built up a lot more eye contact: I usually look at her eyes and she'll look away and look back. We'll also catch each other's eye's often and she won't look away. She's also flirtatious though timid.

Seems like an IOI to me but don't know if I should go in for the "hey wanna get some drinks after work today?"

Don't want to risk jeopardizing work relationship if she says no, although we'll never actually work together given our positions and whatnot. but seems like a good chance she'll say yes?

Oh and the other problem is how to ask her without it being public to the entire office...
