Here's the issue:

There is this really cute girl in my classes at uni. She's quite shy and very rarely talks much. Moreover she usually sits with her friends, and there is little opportunity to talk in lectures anyway. I spoke to her once briefly an she seemed quite flustered, maybe even intimidated. She accepted my facebook request though.

My question is how can I get things moving? Should I send her a message? And how? Ive read up on text game a bit, but I dont wanna come across as cocky or too aloof. I get the impression she may like me, but I know nothing about her. Ive been hoping to casually bump into her in a club for a while but that aint gonna happen anytime soon.

Hey! I want to start by asking you a question, what do you want? What kind of relationship? To be honest I Wouldn't recommend going after a girl in your own class, think about the future what would happen if you guys make out and if then doesn't work out? You are stucked with her for months. Do you know what I mean?

Wow what an interesting reply, and very moral too. I completely agree with you that it would be a huge and potentially awkward investment, hence why I stated I didnt want to be cocky and be too 'gamey' with her. Perhaps Im putting her on a pedestal but she certainly isnt a sambucca downing/panty flashing club girl.

What do I want? I would genuinely date her if things progressed. Im studying for my MA at present so I dont have too much time to go out and meet girls (aside from joining salsa and modelling societies lol). I got into this community to take chances. Its a risk, but I dont wanna look back 6 months from now regretting never even taking the chance with her. Heck, she may reject me in an instant anyway!!

That being said......what are my options?

I know, you see when you get old you don't regret the things that you did, you regret the things that you didn't do... if you really want her go get it period but think about the possible consequences - if things don't work ouy you will have to live with seing her almost every day, can you live with that? If you can then do it.

One last advice if you really like her, I mean if you REALLY like her forget about the PUA crap for a while and just be yourself

Did any of you ever date in highschool?

as long as you are not expected to work together often, and dont have to many classes together it rarely ends up that badly.
