Getting # from mutual friend

Met this girl through mutual friends at the beginning of the semester, we made out that night. Met her again randomly and we made out again, but her friend rushed her out so I missed the #. Question is, our mutual friend, who I'm good friends with, is a chick, and excited about the whole thing. But she's better friends with me than the target. What's the deal with getting #s from a friend. If I hadn't made out with her multiple times I probably wouldn't, but I'm not sure when ill see her again. Thoughts?
