How do you deal with conflicting pickup information?

There's so much conflicting information out there when it comes to pickup. For example, some PUAs say it's a good opener to be direct and honest. Others say to be indirect because she has probably heard it all before.

How does a beginner, an AFC, deal with this conflicting information?

100000% true; If you get conflicting information it's because one thing will NEVER EVER work for EVERY guy - the best thing to do is test them each out and choose which one benefits you the most.
