First off, some background info: There is this girl I have known for a better part of a decade now and it has only been recently (past two years) that I have begun noticed her, possibly because she is a few years younger than me (Her=22, Me 27). Anyway, she has a boyfriend that she has been dating for a little over four years now. They grew up together and I am pretty confident I will never be with this woman. However, I do enjoy the bond we have together and like to use her when I bring other girls around because I have learned it has helped me in a few occasions to DHV (she is an HB9, so the way we act with one another is perfect for this). Of course she does not know that I do this, and I probably would never tell her because in the back of my mind I do desire her so. Anyway, this past weekend, she invited me to go out to the bar for some drinks. I obligided, and as soon as we got there we were chatting away, kind of flirtatious. About an hour after we are there, she sees someone she recognizes and disappears. She returns after five minutes and says, "That's so-and-so. He's such a douchebag". I took no acknowledgement of this statement and we carried on in conversation. Low and behold, about ten minutes later, here comes so-and-so. We were sitting at the bar and he came up and just started talking to my girl. For over an hour. I sat there, frozen, because it was loud, I could not hear to join in on the conversation. I panicked after the first five minutes, because I knew what he was doing. My friend, she barely acknoledged me that whole time. It took ever fiber in my body not to be reactive, but I know I must have failed. In hindsight, I think I should have suggested a change in location to where we could all talk, but I was just so furious I was being out-played, I couldn't think straight. Oh, and his friends whom he were with just stood behind him, just looking around, not really saying a word to even each other, like they were lost. Like me. It was a horrible feeling, even if I was not going to take this woman to bed, to have someone snatch her attentiveness away from me. Anyway, has anyone faced similar expereiences? I know everyone here would like to be a pick up artist, and the risk is the more there are, the more chances this will happen. I can be alright with having to face competition, but how do I handle a situation such as this? How can I calm myself down so that I don't become so reactive, which undoubtedly sent me into DLV? What is the douchebag affect that I hear, where women will state how much of a douchbag a guy is and than give them their full undivided attention. Me or that guy will never hook up with that girl, but man, he definetely out-gamed me. Just some pointers, what would you do if you run into a natural, or someone with more game than yourself? Thanks for any responses!
