Every guy needs sex & love with decent-looking girls, but many guys have to go without this because they haven't got the looks/skills to attract girls unless the girl is desperate (and therefore ugly/fat).

However, it seems like you need extremely good PUA skills in order to get anywhere with any pretty girls: you have to be an absolute alpha male who is super-confident, super-charismatic, super-popular, smooth-talking with excellent social skills, funny but not goofy, intelligent but not geeky, interested but not 'too interested', have tons & tons of inner & outer game and know exactly what to say/do all the time - and that's in addition to looking decent and being of a reasonable height! It's like needing to get a PhD in Astrophysics just to get a job as a filing clerk in a bog-standard office! Or like needing to pay £500 just for a sandwich (that's actually edible) when you're starving hungry.

Does anyone else find this incredibly intimidating, the sheer mountain one has to climb in order to get even a few drunk kisses from vaguely attractive girls?! To me it seems like utter utter madness, and is driving me mental with stress at what I have to somehow become in order to get anything! Aren't there any decent-looking girls out there who will just go out with normal guys with average levels of social skills?! Or are normal guys who can't be super-charismatic leaders really doomed for the rest of their lives to have to forget all about lust and just settle for ugly & fat girls who will only get with them out of their own desperation?

By the way this thread is directed at developing PUAs, not the super-PUAs who look down on the rest of us like billionaires from their glorious ivory towers full of insanely sexy girls who give them so much sex they just take it for granted. I know you guys can get it easily, but seriously can you at least think back to how it was when you were starting out?

No, I don't find this process intimidating. Difficult at times, yes. To be honest, when I started, I just read The Game, got some routines, and read some affirmation. I wasn't even apart of this forum and figured out all my problems myself. The simple excitement of learning and getting chicks, pushed me through rejection and motivated me to take risk. This is what I did when things were looking bad for me: I STOP reading so much PUA stuff, talked to chicks, if it went wrong I recognized my mistake, made a mental note of it, and talked to more chicks. I BELIEVED in myself and found moderate success.

This won't seem like such a mountian if you just stay positive, positive, positive! You depress me with half of your post , C'mon! This is a learning process, don't get intimidated. You either succeed or learn or both. Yeah, your gonna feel like this is impossible at some points. Deal with it and get over itor quit. Get over your problems and learn or complain and get nowhere. Take things one step at a time and stay positive or doubt yourself and get overwhelmed. These are the choices, make em.
