Also lean back so you don't intimidate her- give her space.
But I also read you want to be as close to her as possible so she'll feel comfortable around you and so you can whisper in her ear and such. These two advice contradict one another, now I'm confused.

Things will always contradict on here, because there are no set rules. What works for one person won't work for another. So try as much as you can, discard what doesn't work for you, and keep what does.
Also, I wouldn't take things like the angle at which you approach a girl too seriously. If you're worrying about going in at 45 degrees instead of 60, you're probably not in the right frame of mind to make it work anyway!

Try and find one who is more suitable.
A friend of mine has great body language. He goes direct he face her completly and has good sucess with the ladies.
