You heard the phrase seeing is believing.

People have used mental imagery or guided imagery for all kinds of things like relieving anxiety(might be useful for approach anxiety) for improving their sports games or for solving problems.

I read once where a group of golfers were studied, some did just practicing, others did practicing and did mental imagery where they visualize yourself going through all the motions of your golf game, and the group that did both did better in their following games.

And I read a story about a guy who was stranded somewhere, i forget where, but he wasnt found for 60 days or something. And every day he visualized himself playing tennis, and his game actually improved from where he previously was even though he didnt physically practice


Maybe it could work for PU women.

U imagine yourself at the club, u visualize all the people around, and all the sets around, and imagine all the details. What songs are playing? what is the scene like heavy traffic or light traffic?

Imagine what the women are wearing, how many blondes and brunettes and red heads etc what obstacles are in your way from your target...

what does their perfume smell like, and what are people talking about.

in other words u imagine everything as if u are there, and the more details u can include, the more your brain will believe u are really there.

Now that u are "there" u can visualize your game unfolding, imagine yourself approaching and going through all the motions, imagine ignoring the target and negging her....lol

Your brain doest care if something is really happening or not, u can make it believe u are really there.

And think about it, u get to practice in your mind and nobody else can interefere,,,unless u want to visualize somebody cockblocking u.

but that could be a really good tool to practicing your game with no risk of rejection or losing confidence.

It's also called "fake it till you make it"

Bobby Rio is an advocate of this approach... he calls it shadow boxing... He also advocates sparring, which simply involves practicing conversations with people you have no sexual interest in.

Be careful with visualization though: while rehearsing a skill set mentally is a very useful tool (and many sports people indeed adopt this approach), beware the exercise some people recommend where you are asked to imagine what an important aspect of your life will feel like once you have actually achieved it...
In other words, do not do try to imagine what you will feel like once you are successful with women...

Psychological research has shown this type of exercise (which is widely recommended in the self-help industry) to be at the very best totally ineffective, and at worst detrimental.

In one famous study, a group of students were asked to imagine getting an excellent set of grades in their exams, in order to build up their confidence. Consequently, they all under-performed in their actual exams (researchers posited that this was because of complacency).

ok that makes sense. U can get so confident that u can do it, and then it doesnt go how u imagined and u end up feeling worse. or u get lax because u think u got it "down"

I guess u have to go in knowing what u are trying to achive and not selling yourself a cure all.

and maybe not overdoing it, 5 minute breaks to visualize your steps
