Ok this is just very general and an observation that suprisingly took me a while to notice.

I do a serious job (government) and work with serious people and this accounts for probably 80% of my life. While im still active, a keen gym goer, I drive a fast car, am always dragging the lads out drinking and playing drinking games etc a lot of the 'seriousness' has rubbed off in my everyday life.
For example my friends will say things to girls that I just think is plain inappropriate, while they rarely offend I would still struggle to push the limits as far (with someone I don't know).
I have also become more reserved and lately am making a conscious effort to instigate games, do silly things and be less serious. However I feel like it's effecting my game and I feel that girls attract quicker and more naturally in a club/pub environment to the fun/less-serious guy.

Any hints/tips/observations?
As I say I make a consciouss effort and have started to try and watch a lot more standup just to be a bit more fun/humorous as naturally much of my humour is quite dry and said with a straight face and it seems to just go over a lot of people's heads. While I enjoy myself I don't laugh so much either (something i'm consiously working on).

Guys any help would be great!....

p.s. please excuse sp/gr as i'm on my phone and it's a nightmare!

TT

i think the source of your seriousness comes from conscious control when you're at work and you're stuck in that mode when you are out with your friends. making thet best jokes are ones which are situational and do not require alot of thought. if you really want to learn to be funny from the comedians that you watch, particularly watch how he interacts to people in the audience when he's making fun of them. the people are giving him information for him to use to make fun of them. i think you need to learn to configure your thought process which goes like this

Visual/auditory stimulus - Brain - Reaction

the brain part is slowing you down and making you hesitant on whether you should act on what you saw or heard. a good exercise to do when your out in public is just say immediately without thought about something. you can say it to your friend or to the person your comment is referring to. the idea is to stay in your head less and be more mindful of your surrounds. for example like with everyone else on the way to work on a train who listen to their ipods, dont use yours, focus on the environment and what you pick up.

hope that i have helped. happy gaming dude
