So, I texted this girl I use to work with on Saturday and invited her to go to the casino with me. She said that she couldn't because she had finals next week. Knew she would say no but wanted to ask her anyway mainly just to get her thinking abut me a little. For background she has a boyfriend.

Anyway, couple days later she writes on my facebook wall:

Her: How was the casino?

ME: Awesome! I'm going to kidnap you on my way through (your town) next time and make you blow huge amounts of money with me at the blackjack table! :)

Her: Haha no point... I don't gamble and I don't have money. I'm not working like you =p

Not sure what I should say next. Sometimes I'm convinced women just don't like fun! If you have anything good for me to say let me know. Also, what do you think of my initial response. I thought it was funny but perhaps it looks desperate if she doesn't get the humor...

Was this a random text? Flirtation/escalation is important before asking the girl out. I always aim for hitting them with it on a high point of conversation or text.

You came off desperate, better to say it was a crazy time and build some intrigue about what went on.

Yeah, it was a random text. Do you think I should respond to her last message and if so what should I say? I feel like I got rejected and the world can see it because it's on my wall. lol

Actually just thought of a good response. Since we both use to work together and both hated our job there (we both eventually quit) I was thinking of just saying 'I hear 'insert name of company where we use to work' is hiring! ;)

Thoughts??

Asking a girl out shows fortitude and thats half the battle. However, your approach could use tweaking. You should have hit up a chat with her to build some comfort and flirt a bit before asking her out. It will highly increase the chances of her saying yes.

Don't use that response since you both hated the place and wouldn't want to go back. You want her to associate you with good conversations/memories. For example, "Remember when we did this or when xxx happened. That was so funny!"

Personally, I would wait a week or two and start fresh with a chat.
