| Alright, so tonight I had to give a group presentation for one of my MBA classes. One of the members happens to be a girl who I would love to eventually get into a relationship with. We've only known each other for about 3 months but so far we have a pseudo-friendship built, but not to the point where I'm in what some people might call the friend zone.
I had already asked her out twice a month or so ago, and unfortunately, I was a pussy and used text messaging to ask. She told me no both times and while she gave good excuses, she didn't ask to reschedule or suggest a different time. So I took that as her not being interested.
But now, things are a little different. We talk a lot more, we flirt a bit, and she has shown very subtle signs of jealousy when other girls pay attention to me. She also makes it a point to sometimes qualify herself, especially if I bring up the topic of relationships. She has also begun touching me all the time for no reason. She lightly taps me when I tell a joke or she has something to say, and insisted on showing me how cold she was today by fondling my face at three different times. These are clearly all IOIs.
So, I figured this means she's finally attracted to me.
Tonight, as I stated earlier, we had to give a presentation. I met up with her beforehand to discuss what we were going to say, etc, and she was in a REALLY bad mood. She looked like she was going to cry, but made it clear that she didn't want to talk about it so I kind of let it go. I made her laugh a bit and finally changed her mood for the better. Victory for Snarg.
So, after the presentation the professor had pizza for everyone since we're clearly in high school again. She ate like, 1.5 slices, and that was it. I had full intentions of asking her to go out to dinner afterward so the pizza kind of threw me off. Fucking pizza. It wasn't even good.
Eventually, we went outside together and talked a bit, and for some reason I pussied out and didn't ask her to go to dinner. I figured she'd have a higher chance of saying no since she just ate, plus she was having a bad day. I got in my car and she got in hers. Just then, the entire PUA community appeared on my shoulder in spiritual form and said "You fucking pussy. You fucking ask her to go to dinner with you. Bitch. Nerd." And so I did.
The conversation went a bit like this:
Me: You know, actually, I'm still hungry as hell. I'm thinking about going to (restaurant name), want to join me?
Her: Hehehehehe tee hee heeeee. You're a bad influence on me, I have so much homework to do tonight. You're still hungry? I mean, I'll go with you but I probably won't get any food.
Now, of all the possible scenarios I could have prepared for, who the fuck saw that answer coming? So I might have fucked this next part up, but hey, fuck it.
Me: Well that's no fun. Don't worry about it, we can do it some other time.
Her: Well no, like I said, I'll go but just won't get any food.
"What the FUCK", I said to myself. What do I even do here?
Me: Well...we could get drinks then. Sound good?
Her: Define "drink".
So at this point, really, could she have made this any more difficult for me? So we bullshitted a bit more and finally she said:
Her: Why don't we just go tomorrow then?
During this entire conversation, I tried to keep it very light and upbeat by occasionally making her laugh, and she had a smile on her face the whole time.
And so, tomorrow it is. But here's my concern: it feels like I sort of pried it out of her to go out with me. Does anyone else get that vibe from this conversation? I don't really understand why she didn't respond more positively based on the signals she has been giving me lately. I thought for sure she was interested in me. Or maybe I'm just being oversensitive.
As always, thanks for taking the time to read my post.
