So i have been friends with this girl for 4 years, and although we have both always had boyfriends and girlfriends, i have always sensed a sort of mutual attraction with her. In spite of this possible mutual attraction, i felt it was necessary to cut off contact with her, so i could kind of reset her view of me from flirty friend, to potential bf.

I dont have all my effort invested in her, but here is basically what has happened over the past week. I cut off contact with her 2 weekends ago. 3 days after i cut it off, she called me, but i felt it wasnt nearly enough time, so i didnt pick up. A large problem is the fact that it is very difficult for me to avoid seeing her, since i'm a senior in high school, and her locker is right next to mine.

Today, she came up to me and just gave me a hug, and said she felt like she hadnt seen me in a while. I hugged her back happily, was saved by the bell, and left to get to class.

My plan was to keep contact off for until this weekend (total of 2 weeks), where there will probably be a party, but do you guys think this is a good idea given what you just read? If so, any advice would be awesome. thanks in advance!!!

PS, i read what the vietnameseprodigy wrote after me, and as enlightening as that was, it didn't really answer my question, because of how specific my situation is. But what he wrote was fantastic, and if you havent read it, you should go do that
