Hi I apolgize if this topic already exists. I could use some advice on getting started from being a afc and changing into a pua. I will be doing the newbie challenge this afternoon and I hope it goes well. I am also going to a local club on the 19th for my friend's bday. I promised my friend that I will attempt picking up and approaching women. I tend to freeze and have no idea what to say.

Now the club will be showing the UFC ppv so there will be a lot of jock bulldog types there. I am fairly small and kinda look like a geek compared to them. What would be a good way to open and possibly deal with competition?

if you can make pick up fun instead of taking it seriously, you will do just fine.

Give it your best shot but also don't feel that if you fail, you're a failure. This shit takes time to 'experience'. I've barely scratched the surface but after a 4 year relationship followed by 1.5 years of being single, the rust is FINALLY starting to shake off. I'm starting to feel opening women becoming natural again. It's taken 6 months of preparing my mind, a week with a MPUA and a string of solo pick-ups to finally feel progress. And to be honest, I hate that it took so long since it's not a big deal at all.

If you are able to pull off bringing someone home on your first night out, you've done better than 99.8% of the guys on this forum. The key is being comfortable in your skin around these women. If you think too much, it's a bad thing. If you think too much negatively, it's even worse. You can try to force situations but for someone with little experience, this can lead to a lot of dead sets.

You have Ottawa and Montreal within an hours driving distance and Kingston within 2 hours. You'll find a much higher target rich environment there. I recommend finding someone in the same boat as you so you can push each other on weekend trips to those other cities.

Thanks for the tips. I am planning a trip to Ottawa very soon. I would love to have afriend help me out but I do not have any friends that can come with me. Most of my friends are married and the ones who are single are bitter and miserable.

They don't want to be bitter and miserable. You almost have to become a saleman and get them on board with meeting people. Also, I have a married buddy who comes out with me to meet women. He's very much committed but that doesn't mean he can't meet new people.

I tried to convince them to go out more to little to no success. Most of my friends are the homebody type like I used to be.
