I did this thing where I stare at her eyes seductively while stroking the neck of my beer bottle.

My theory is that I did that routine too early. This was early into the conversation and I probably haven't built enough attraction yet. That move was obviously suggesting sex. Like the MM states, seduction goes last.

I might have been able to turn the situation around by asking her:
"What do you care about my facial expression and gestures?"
Instead I dismissed her comment and pretended to be texting and drinking more booze..

She gave you a shit test and you failed it by replying to it directly. A better response would have been to turn it around with a cocky/funny remark. If you would have made her laugh at that point, it would have been an easy score.
