You lack text game.. Don't say "hey what are you doin thursday".. You'll have better luck if your already having a convo and you invite her on a high note of it. As far as the actual invitation goes, don't tell her to pick a movie. Better yet, don't go to the movies at all. Think of something more fun that you can take her to do, then steer the conversation towards that. You're aiming for an indirect invitation for her to join you in doing something (fun) that you were already doing without her.
I see what you're trying to do there, a little confidence and assuming she will want to go with you.. but trust me, your idea of that interaction has some very fundamental problems with it. You ought to check out B4UTXTHER and some other texting game books.. You need to focus on how you phrase your texts and what implications they give.. Wording is EVERYTHING in texts man. Trust.
