Here's the situation,

We both have the same english class, and were put into a group together - this was our initial encounter I did not notice any iois because I didn't really look for any.

After a few days and class sessions, something happened on this particular day.. As I was walking out into the lobby to get ready to leave the building, she was sitting at a study table. I made eye contact with her and she looked away... I also looked away and exited the building. \

The next day I sat with a few guys playing chess at the table next to where she usually studies. I set up a match - with the board angled so I would be able to face her and her friends. I made eye contact with her sporadically during the match. I caught clusters of iois including eye contact with looking away, preening, and caught her trying to get a glimpse at me a few times. After the match ended and the chess players left, I made an approach to her 5 minutes later

Val: Hey do you have any idea how to write this essay?
HB7: Oh I don't know either I made a phone call to my mom to ask her questions about it earlier! *big smile*
Val: wow.. *to her friends* Hey do you guys have english class too?

After a while of talking and introducing I excused myself to my next class.

anyway I continued to game for the next few days and I didn't get the results. Now my gut is telling me that she is uncomfortable with me being around.

A few days ago when I sat with her at her table.. I tried making small talk when she was obviously trying to study. She then made an excuse of it being a nice day and made a remark of wanting to go outside. When she decided to leave, I was told that I didn't have to go outside with her. I knew this meant she didnt want me to go with her, but I went anyway. It was all very uncomfortable after that in terms of her body language.

Just yesterday I went into the lobby to see her doing her classwork on a lounge chair with some of her friends far from the table where she usually studies. Didn't make an approach, didn't make eye contact, just sat my ass down at the table and studied..

I really want to get a K-close out of her and feel that before there was discomfort between us, there was attraction. There is a chance and this is worth my time and effort.

next time you see eye contact, don't hesitate, don't break the eye contact, walk straight over, and declare interest, you will find out if she is interested

Following her outside when it was very clear you were unwelcome at the time was a bad idea. You don't know the situation. For all you know it wasn't to do with you at all, maybe they wanted to have a private conversation or something. Leave it for a bit, re-open at a later date with something work related again and try to start over.
