I can't answer her question (too defensive, plus if I'm not careful I could say something actually hurtful), but ignoring the question doesn't always work.

Or would it be best to tease her about feeling insecure about that, then moving on to another topic immediately afterwards?

these days i'm feeling romantic and i'd probably answer something like "you're too beautiful. i'd fall in love with you and take care of you and you would so take advantage of me. and we don't want that to happen." big smile

but, kudos for being in the field and trying thins out. it will click after a while and you'll know what to say.

So in response to that i wouldn't even have bothered thinking of anything.
I probably would have said something completely unrelated like "lizards" and then changed the topic completely - "I'm going to get a drink, lets go" *grab her hand and pull her away*.

Hell, if it's frame control you want, you have to dictate the conversations no matter where it goes - even if it's nonsensical - and even more so control the actions of the interaction. Stop thinking about how and why and just do. Testing and failing is the best way to learn!
