Hey guys,
As someone who's just getting into the Game, I've done some searching and have found varying responses regarding the "survival kit", or the set of routines necessary to start sarging without stalling in every conversation you have. What do you guys think is the best way to get your toolbox started when you're first beginning? How many of each sort of routine do you recommend memorizing, and do you usually have an outline as to how you're going to put it all together? Or do you memorize them individually so you can jump through them in whatever order you want?
Additionally, how much "rehearsing" or practicing on your own time do you generally do in front of a mirror before using something infield? I took a theater course in college for my fine arts requirement, and one assignment required us to act out a scene from a classic play. My professor's most-emphasized advice was to know your lines in your sleep, backwards and forwards, so that you can start at any point and be able to go through it without thinking. Does the same thing apply to pickup, and if not, how well do you usually know a piece of material before you take it infield?
Thanks in advance and keep up the great work guys--this forum has provided a great community to get my foot in the door and learn a ton.
Well each guy is going to have his own individual preference, 2-3 would enable you to go out practice. Keep in mind that 'routines' only help to initiate conversation, make a hook point plus a bit of rapport. You will need to hold up a conversation once the routine is over. which wont be difficult if the routines worked well.
Mystery made his students rehearse their lines, it will only help you to remember them so it cant do any harm
