I'm sorry to say this but this has to be one of the worst material I've ever read. He uses an exceptional amount of words yet says barely anything. Reminds me of myself when I have to bluff my way through something.
Anyway, what I think he's trying to say with 'entering the spirit' (come on, what kind of terminology is that) is that you have to put yourself in a position where your target can identify herself with you. That way she can 'justify' any choice you made in the past, because you're in a similar situation. This works as long you have a product, like in sales, teaching or debate. In the picking-up business, you're only selling yourself. You never chose yourself in any way so there's no reason why you should position yourself as a peer. If anything, you need to create a gap between the two of you if you want to do a successful pickup.
The concept of identification is still apparent in PUA though. Remember pre-selection? That's basically the same thing, girls 'justifying' themselves choosing you because peers (other girls) did so as well.
So yeah, there's some truth in the whole entering the spirit, but this Greene guy is just completely on the wrong track here in my opinion. Did you actually buy this book? If so, I should consider writing one as well... _________________ Go.
