(I'm new so sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, couldn't find a similar topic)

I met a girl through a few friends of mine, she was instantly attracted to me thanks to some learned DHV's that I got through her best friends and sister.

I made the mistake of taking her on a few dates that implied a more traditional relationship structure, which I believe hurt my chances of closing her early on. A few weeks later she's off to school, meeting a bunch of new people. It's a significant distance away. When she left we were still texting and calling a lot, but after a few weeks now were losing emotional momentum (I've made a few mistakes in matching her investment in texts, tried now texting her for a day but this didn't help) it's obvious we can't have a relationship this far away.

I'm totally fine with this, I just want to make sure it doesn't go cold to where I can't pick it up at some point later on or go visit her and hook up.

Any advice on how to keep this alive?
