Can't help but feel he is holding me back in becoming social and good with women in college( He is my roomate too). He is recently out of a long term relationship, the girl was also the only girl he as slept with.

He hates the nightclub scene and is a buzz-killer when ever I go out with him and is the kind who would talk about approaching a girl rather then actually approaching her. He believes he's the dominant one in our friendship (for example if we're on a roadtrip he'll insist on playing the music he likes over mine and call my music shite when I put it on).

I have no real alternative circle of friends and I feel I may need one to move forward in being more social.

He is loud and cocky to me and other friends but when it comes to women he not so loud and sometimes I wish I could point this out to him...but at the same time I don't want to end our friendship.

Thoughts anyone?

Point it out to him, if he's a dick about it then he's certainly not the kind of person I'd
want as a friend anyway and you can move on to spending time with other people.

It's win, win.

Sounds like he's not that great of a friend. Chances are he might act in an obnoxious way toward you because he's aware he's your only friend.

Since you're in college, you might wanna expend your circle of friends to more than just him. If your socially inclined, making friends will be very easy. It'll bring up your social value too if you're hanging out with a lot of people.
