| OK, so firstly the good news. I got my first number close on the third day of sarging.
I walked up to a girl and asked her about sight-seeing in london, and she said she's not from here, and I asked here where shes from, and she said german. I speak german, so we chatted, and that was an instant connection. After about 5 mins she asked me whether I have facebook, and I said, just give me your number, and she put her number in my phone. The end.
OK, so the other two sets I approached today didnt go so well. My second set was a two-set, and they were walking. Here's how it went.
Traveler: Hey guys, quick question. What places are good for sight-seeing around here in London?
HB7: Are you kidding me? (we were in Covent Garden, a major tourist area)
Traveler: Well, I'm only here for a few weeks, and I wanted to get most out of London.
HB7: Well there's bla, bla, bla, around the corner...blabla.
Traveler: OK. Are you from London?
HB7: ...I'm from outside of London.
Traveler: Oh cool. Where?
HB7: Blabla
Traveler: Oh I have a friend from there, I've actually always wanted to go there.
HB7: ...OK. We're actually going to work right now.
Traveler: Oh ok...well thanks anyway!
HB7: Yeah.
So. They weren't really giving me a lot. But I don't want to blame it on them. It was my game.
So how could I have actually gotten them interested in me? They were definitely not going to work, they were shopping. Unless they work in a store.
They did stop to talk to me, and I did open over the shoulder and stood at an angle, leaned back, etc. Did I telegraph too much interest? It feels like the "I have a friend bit" seemed to really alienate her, or at least didn't get a response out of them at all. Like, some random guy telling me he's got a friend from there.
I pretty much didn't know what else to say at that moment. Any ideas?
