When (if ever) are the following sort of comments appropriate?
From my understanding, all of them are "MAJOR AFC", which I personally don't agree on. Surely it's okay to be sweet and cute to a girl once in awhile...right?
- I've been looking forward to seeing you again
- Missing you
- I had a really good time
- It would be cool to see you more often
- You have a very unique style, and it suits you
- Your ass is aesthetically pleasing (just kidding, ignore this one)
etc etc...
Are these comments ever beneficial to your relationship with a girl?
This question includes girls you are exclusive with.
Are you trying to be sweet or safe? Safe kills an established relationship as quick as it kills a PU. Of course relationships can plod on year after year once you've managed to kill whatever erotic-intellectual-emotional energy it had!
Having said that, it's fine to pay a compliment under certain circumstances, once you are pretty sure you are not going to be shit tested, once she knows you are not putting her on a pedestal (making her feel extremely strange), etc.
Then the simple rules are:
1) be as specific and non-generic as possible,
2) don't pass on a chance to be suggestive or openly sexual,
3) give it with style (enthusiasm, charm, whatever suits you)...
Examples:
NOT: Linda, your eyes are so beautiful.
BUT: You are rocking those shoes, they make you look major sexy.
NOT: I miss you.
BUT: I miss the way you taste when you're hot.
NOT: I had a really good time.
BUT: That was atomic--I'm doing it again next week, you want to come with?
Whatever--depends on your style, but if you are trying to give a real compliment, as opposed to a very minor neg., you've got to try harder.
