Except for how making her jealous as a tactical strategy actually works.

Nothing wrong with changing FB privacy settings, either.
What's your definition of "works" ?

She'll come back in a jealous fit for a couple more weeks with a vindictive spirit and then hurt him all over again? Hurt because he hadn't spent time building himself out of the guy she just broke up with in the first place?

That works? You guys are thinking too short term.

No, not get her back in a jealous fit. Make her realize that she still wants him, and couple it with a change in behavior from her.

You basically have two time periods to get back with a girl. Within about the first several months, or several years later.

Jealousy ceases to have any real power outside a few months. After that point, you're basically playing a waiting game for her to go through enough guys that she likes less than you, to decide that you were the best one she can get.

The other problem with playing the long game, is that she comes back with eventual marriage on her mind.

My point is.. he's still the exact same guy she left. So she'll come back, but for how long? And is it really worth it then?

Him making her jealous isn't going to magically snap him into a guy who's fit to deal with a relationship.

Yeah, I get what you're saying but heres the issue. When we were together, I didn't have any girls as friends. Realistically, although the fear of cheating was brought up, there never really was any threat. Given that I was a bitch the last time i ever saw her, I expect she thinks is that Im hung up on her right at this very moment not being able eat or sleep, which is far from the truth. I got laid within the first few days we broke up, and girls have been messaging me non stop on facebook. Since we dont have any mutual friends, I figure facebook is the only outlet. To show that I could move on so quickly after her. Its a tool but by no means the end all be all. She was always extremely jealous
