A marriage that lasts is all about partnership. He decided he was going to do something to make it memorable for her. If she's any kind of quality partner, she'll do the same kinds of things for him (or already has).
In a marriage, a man still has to be a man, but being a man doesn't mean always holding control - as in "having the power". Being a man also means knowing when to compromise, or even give up control when the situation calls for it. Terms like "AFC" don't really have very much context (if at all) in a marriage. Rather than having or SPAM power, you should have shared, complimentary power.
Your wife *should* be your closest friend and confidant. There are things you share in a marriage that go far, far beyond any kind of relationship you share with anyone else.
