"Don't flatter yourself" seems a bit reactionary and defensive.

"Prove it!" seems a bit more playful and plus it forces her to qualify herself to you. After all, she is the one who claims "I am awesome!"

I would maybe even add something like "If you are truly awesome, why don't you do something awesome, like buy me a drink?"

Say "Let me test then" and then put her hair behind her neck and smell her neck in a sensual way. If she jerks backs she fails, if she smiles or something, then say "you maybe are..."

OH god this shit. Just got it yesterday.

Prove it, How so, I dont believe you, On what scale, and I'm a purple elephant are all one's I've used. (last one I was a little drunk so I hope you understand)

You could also just repeat it back with a questionable tone, as if to turn her statement about herself into a first person statement about you. But to be honest I like "prove it" best, it gets her to qualfiy herself and also helps flips the conversation in the right direction while maintaining frame control.

you have to read the girl....there are 3 options to what this means and how you handle it:

1) it means she is a total b*tch and you should walk away

2) it means she doesnt think you 'have what it takes' and (as said above) she is tryin to throw you off your game -- or maybe she just thinks she is better than you....but you can do one of two things to counter this if you play it right -- a) you act as if you are awesome in return...act as if you dont care as much about her...you dont want this to be overly rude, but a little bit of it...a taste of her own medcine type of situation may do a good enough job to break down her wall

3) or.....same as #2....and the other option is--- b) make it playful and fun (i think someone above said this too)...if you turn it into a joke, that may also work.

it just depends though, you have to read the girl and figure out if she is the type of girl that needs to smile before her wall is broken down or if you need to knock it down with force. --- remember there is a chance that she is a b*tch and wants to be left alone, so dont push too hard....but also remember that you have to stick with your choice -- this type of girl is gonna smell a fake....so once you make your choice you must go at it fully -- cant change part way.
