I'm going to answer this the way I play my own personal game in ref to your questions.

DHV is any kind of light that you can portray yourself in which generates curiosity and intrigue.
Baiting is getting them to come to you.

Personally, I've found one of the best ways is none other that what Mystery used to display higher value often...the use of very well timed, performed and strategically placed Magic.

It's not for everyone. But it has so many useful advantages if you know how to pepper it into your game.
