You only tell a girl you miss her if you've fucked her as far as I'm concerned. If you haven't, it just sounds like a lame guy that has no other female prospects or no other female prospects at her level. It's pretty much like saying "You're probably too good for me. Please, please like me?".

Rather than tell her "I miss you", bring up some fun you had together and say how cool that was and maybe you should do something else like it.
