Caring is feeling so you do care, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Since you did not do it in person I can't really see you going anywhere else with this. Maybe you could show some social proof around her by hanging with other girls, this may reset her view of you. Other then that get over your oneitis by talking to other girls, go out and have fun and don't worry about what she thinks of you.
