You are wrong. You don't have to be an asshole to be exciting. 1. Women go for assholes (men that treat them bad) because they have EGO issues (insecure and want validation) and they have too low of self-esteem to realize they can do better.

2. The asshole has a lot going for him. He's rich. He's powerful. he's cool. The women just tolerates it. This is also another instance of low self-esteem because the women is compromising herself

I think has more to do with the fact that the asshole isn't easy. He's hard to get. And, the jerky behavior makes the girl a little unsure of herself and she wants to get his affection for his approval.
