3.5 years? ...you just had a divorce lol
Haha, that's how it feels. Coupled with the fact that we have a dog together who goes between houses, its like having shared custody. But there is no way I can give him up, and her parents had to put down their dog recently so my dog is helping her family with that. Her family didn't do anything wrong to me, they love me and still invite me to eat food/play games when they have family over. So I can't really just take my dog away from them right now...

I think another thing I can't get out of my head is the fact that I feel if I'm not good enough for me ex (who is only a 7, maybe 8), I won't be good enough for a lot of girls that live up to my standards. I know this is BS, unfortunately that is how I think right now.

And ZMLZ, we have a lot in common. I graduated last year with my BS in Mechanical Engineering, and currently work as an engineer. I have also been going to the gym regularly since my breakup, and as you can probably tell from my signature I'm into cars. I really don't have a problem with conversation, although I try to stay away from the interview style that most people use when talking to new people. I'd say being an engineer is a DHV, but I usually try to get off that subject quickly after it comes up.

Figure I may as well keep updating this will all my failed nights out...

Friday night my roommate and I go out to where I went to high school because the local college's semester has ended and they have a big event. We can't get into the event because we didn't go to college there, so we head over to play a couple hours of pool before people start heading to the bars. Get a little too drunk playing pool and finally head to the bars around midnight. Some places are dead, and the busy places have long lines. Find a decent place that is packed with a short enough line, and I see a girl that used to come to my apartment for parties try to get in. The bouncer told her to get in line, so I she sees me and I signal for her to come see me. She gives me a hug and tells me how its been forever, blah blah. We keep our arms around each other in line, shooting the shit, and then we go our separate ways when we get in. She has a boyfriend now anyways, so that would have gone nowhere.

We get in, I go to the bar to get us drunks. A little background on my roommate's situation - He has met a girl that he is hooking up with, she definitely wants to date him but he really doesn't want to date her, and they have sex regularly. The whole time playing pool, he is telling me how he wants to do his own thing tonight, blah blah blah. So while waiting at the bar, her friend (that I've met a couple times) comes up out of nowhere and starts talking to my roommate. I'm still waiting for drinks, so she pokes me in the side and I give her a nod. I wouldn't mind hooking up with this girl, but I know my roommate didn't want to stick around her the whole night. So I ask her where her friends are, and she says they all left her. Almost making it too easy, but I could see on my roommate's face that he didn't want her around. So I don't push it, and we pretty much just walk away from her.

Lose her, we find a set of 5 girls, all very cute, getting shots at the bar. A blonde and brunette keep giving us the stare, and we stare back and smile. They all make their way to the dance floor, a couple minutes later we move over there. We find them dancing in the corner. I tell my roommate to follow me in, but he is all worried that his hookup's friend is still around somewhere. I look around, didn't see her, and tell him to man up. He won't go in, so I pretty much go in myself, dancing and having a good time. One of the girls (neither of the ones that were eye-fucking us) starts grinding on me, so I go with it and dance with her for a bit. She was a very promiscuous dancer...

My roommate is just standing there, and he see's another one of his hookup's friends by the bar. At this point, we just leave because it was closing time and the set of girls had dispersed... Of course, the next day my roommate is full of regrets that he didn't do anything, and I'm pissed at him for being a shitty wing. I could have stayed with her friend that we ditched and had a good night with her, but I knew he didn't want that. Next time, I'm thinking I'll just throw him under the bus and do what I want.

However, it was a good night regardless, I did very well in pool and we might be making a trip back out to college-town again soon...
