I always think if you deny a rumour they will see it annoys you and push harder and clearly agreeing isn't the way forward.

Think Alpha mate, if you were the coolest kid in the world you really wouldn't care. IF they say were you at home crying then make it worse laugh and walk off.
ie.

- Mate the rumour is you were crying at home.
- That's not true man, it was definitely a genuine broken heart, I went to the doctors and everything.. I've even thought about ending it a few times, you must know the feeling, haha (then walk off laughing).

Don't deny bro, just simply answer they're question with a question and agree with what they said...

Everyone is expecting you to say "no"... You'll be playing into it with that sort of response. And walking away right after.. seriously?

Try this

"hey were you crying because she said no to you?"

" Do you think I would cry over that?"

and wether they say yes or no, just smile and say "ok"

Everyone denies rumors, thats not the road to take, attack the problem, don't neglect it.
