I'm quite confident in starting conversations, willing to make a few jokey digs etc. and it works well with girls who are not that shy and not over the top (which perhaps highlights a weakness to my game, but still allows for a pretty solid pool of talent).

However, I find that every now and again I come across an HB9-10 that I open with and is certainly interested. I can hold my own in conversation and escalate pretty quickly. But then they either start talking constantly or feel like they can get away with some pretty harsh insults.

Personally, I would say it's my fault for letting them start to talk too much (either because I'm not talking enough, or because I've given them too much attention for too long) Any ideas here? Should I just shut them up by going for a k-close? Or interupt them more? I'm not a big fan of lines like "jeez, you like to talk a lot don't you?"...

And as for the harsher insults, I'm thinking this is like a shit test, but I find it hard to come back to harsh insults. I mean, if you trade like for like I think you just descend into joking around the whole time or worse- actually insulting them. So again anyway to get past this would be appreciated!

Well you really should interrupt them once in a while to keep the whole situation under your control. I don't know what kind of insults you get. I usually don't get insulted when I'm talking to normal women. They always try proding around but nothing harsh... that's just rude and I'm not wasting my time on instable ego-queens. Whenever something like this happens, tell them you yet do not know them enough for them to behave like that with you. If they go again then leave them. They might get it and apologise and start behaving nicely or not and then you just leave and find a girl that has some manners.

I believe in the 90/10 rule here.

The guy should be doing 90% of the talking.

It's our job to attract her,thus you cannot expect the girl to do most of the interraction and talking then expect her to be attracted.

As the interraction progresses,you're now in comfort,the convo should then shift to where she's doing 50-50.

But in the attraction phase(after opening),it's the guy's job to do 90% of the talking.

Yes,include her by asking her an interesting question or opinion.

But do not allow her to take over the convo'.

Her blabbing away will not led to a lay.

So it's safer for the guy to blab.

As far as kissing her to shut her up.

Bad idea if your non-verbals arent decent.

So Mobius,stop looking for a cop out and start talking more.

Cut her off if she's taking the convo down the wrong road.
